CORAL GABLES, Fla. — The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s tennis team (1-8) lost 4-0 to No. 61 University of Miami on Saturday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

No. 100-ranked Antonio Prat won 6-3, 6-4 over Tanner Povey to clinch the match for the Hurricanes.

Miami opened the day taking the doubles point. Prat and Jakub Kroslak won 6-0 over Povey and Jonathan Baron, while Saud Alhogbani and Nacho Serra Sanchez beat Mika Bunjes and Gustav Hasslegren 6-4.

The momentum carried over to singles for the Hurricanes. Kroslak won 6-3, 6-3 over Pablo Paternostro and Rafael Segado defeated Stavros Hadjivarnava 6-4, 6-0, setting the stage for the match-deciding point.

Florida Atlantic 4, FGCU 1: The Eagles lost to the Owls in Boca Raton on Friday. FGCU’s lone win came on the No. 4 singles court, where Hadjivarnava won 6-3, 6-3 over Lucca Pignaton.

FGCU travels to Elon, North Carolina, for a match against Elon University at 4 p.m. Friday. The Eagles then head to Greensboro, North Carolina, to play UNC Greensboro at 2 p.m. Saturday.
