FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Florida Gulf Coast University soccer teams have a busy week ahead featuring a mix of regular-season milestones and crucial preseason tune-ups, highlighted by a Big 12 showdown and a three-match slate at Pickering Field.

The action kicks off Wednesday, Aug. 12, when the FGCU women’s soccer team opens its 20th anniversary season hosting the University of Houston at 7 p.m. The matchup marks the first time a Big 12 opponent has visited Pickering Field in program history. The Eagles are coming off an 11-5-2 campaign in 2025 and enter the year picked atop the Atlantic Sun Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.

Following the opener, attention turns to the FGCU men’s soccer team, which returns home to Pickering Field on Friday, Aug. 14, for its second exhibition match against the University of Tampa with kickoff scheduled for 10 a.m.

The week concludes on Sunday, Aug. 16, with a split schedule across two locations. The FGCU women hit the road for their first away contest of the regular season, taking on Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia, at noon.

Meanwhile, back at Pickering Field, the FGCU men wrap up their exhibition slate against Florida Southern College at 11 a.m. before turning their focus to the regular season.
