JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Florida Gulf Coast University men’s soccer season came to a close on Saturday night as the Eagles suffered a 3-1 loss against ASUN Conference opponent Jacksonville University at Southern Oak Stadium.

Jacksonville (7-6-3, 2-4-2 ASUN) took control early in the match, striking twice within the opening ten minutes. Spencer Potter put the Dolphins ahead in the sixth minute before Kai Tomashiro doubled the lead in the tenth. Jacksonville extended its advantage to 3-0 in the 61st minute on a goal from Jake Waters.

FGCU (5-7-4, 1-4-3 ASUN) answered in the 71st minute when Christian Nobo found the back of the net to cut the deficit to 3-1. Despite outshooting the Dolphins 14-8 on the evening and pressing late into the second half, the Eagles were unable to narrow the gap further.

With the loss, FGCU closes out the 2026 campaign.

Despite the early postseason exit, junior forward Aron Martinez capped off a historic season for the Eagles. Martinez finished as the ASUN leader in goals with nine, tying former Eagle star O’Vonte Mullings (2019) for third on FGCU’s single-season goals leaderboard.
