Houston, Tx.—Florida Gulf Coast University swimming and diving team is 5 of 11 teams with 523 points after the second day of the Phill Hansel Invitational hosted by the University of Houston on Thursday, Nov. 20
The Eagle team of Izzy Ackley, Cassie Bauer, Libby Russum, and Mia Burke won 200 yard Medley Relay in a time of 1:38.47.
Nori Hetyei finished second for the Eagles in the B Final of the 100 Butterfly placing her 10th overall in a time of 54.90 seconds. Ackley finished fifth in the B Final at 55.31 good for 13th overall and Bauer finished eighth in the B Final at 55.66 good for 16th.
Aislyn Barnett finished seventh for FGCU in the A Final of the 400 IM in a time of 4:21.08. Jordan Durocher finished fourth in the B Final at 4:22.80 good for 12th overall.
Libby Freeman finished eighth for the Eagles in the B Final of the 200 Freestyle at a time of 1:52.26 good for 16th overall.
Bauer finished seventh in the A Final of the 100 Breaststroke at 1:02.78. Leah Gentry-Tuney finished second for FGCU in the C Final at 1:02.71 good for 18th overall.
Ackley finished fourth in the A Final of the 100 Backstroke at 53.34 seconds.
Lana Webb finished fifth in the A Final of the 3 meter dive for the Eagles with a score of 282.70. Alexandra Andueza finished first in the B Final good for ninth overall with a score of 298.80. Rylie Darkatsh finished fifth in the C Final with a score of 234.35 good for 21st overall.
FGGCU is back in the pool for the final day of the Phill Hansel Invitational on Friday, Nov. 21 with preliminary events starting a 11 a.m. and finals starting at 5:30 p.m.
