OCALA, Fla. — Florida Gulf Coast University swimmer Cassie Bauer returned to long-course racing from July 16-19, competing at the Florida Summer Senior Champs at the Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training facility.

Swimming under the Gulf Coast Swim Team banner, the rising junior took part in the four-day showcase to benchmark her summer training against elite regional competition.

Bauer highlighted her individual schedule with a pair of second-place finishes in the breaststroke events, clocking a 33.02 in the 50-meter and a 1:11.95 in the 100-meter. She also secured an eighth-place finish in the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:27.36, and placed fifth in the B final—15th overall—in the 50-meter butterfly at 29.83 seconds.

In relay action, she contributed a 1:11.78 breaststroke split to help her squad claim second place in the 400-meter medley relay with a collective time of 4:26.09. She also led off the 200-meter freestyle relay in 27.99 seconds to propel the team to a 12th-place finish at 1:53.39.

The Gulf Coast Swim Team finished 15th out of 49 scoring teams at the meet. Meanwhile, Bauer continues her preparation for the upcoming USA Swimming Toyota National Championships in Irvine, California, slated for July 28 to August 1.
