Houston, Tx.—Florida Gulf Coast University swimming and diving team is 4 of 11 teams with 260 points after the first day of the Phill Hansel Invitational hosted by the University of Houston on Wednesday, Nov. 19

The Eagles team of Leah Gentry-Tuney, Libby Russum, Izzy Ackley and Mia Burke won the 200 yard freestyle relay in a time 1:30.10 for 64 points.

FGCU’s Aislyn Barnett won in the B-Final of the 500 free, putting her ninth overall with a time of 4:50.63 for 20 points.

Cassie Bauer won the B-Final of the 200 IM finishing ninth overall with a time of 2:01.01 for 20 points. Nori Hetyei won the C-Final finishing 17th overall with a time of 2:01.57 for nine points.

Libby Russum finished third in the 50 free with a time of 22.61 seconds for 27 points. Ackley finished eighth in the B-Final and 16th overall at a time of 23.38 for 11 points, Gentry-Tuney finished third in the C-Final and 19th overall at 23.33 for six points followed closely by Burke in 20th at 23.38 for five points.

Ackley, Bauer, Olivia Vecchio, and Gentry-Tuney finished fifth in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:38.76 for 50 points.

Alexandra Andueza finished fourth in the 1 meter diver with a score of 262.25 giving the Eagles 27 points.

FGCU is back in the pool for the second day of the Phill Hansel Invitational on Thursday, Nov. 20 with preliminary events starting at 11 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m.
