Fort Myers, Fla— Florida Gulf Coast University men’s and women’s cross country teams will be at the NCAA Division I South Regional Championships at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama on Friday, Nov. 14

The women’s 6k event starts at 9:30 a.m., followed by the men’s 10k at 10:30 a.m.

FGCU most recently competed in the Atlantic Sun Championship in Jacksonville, Fla. on Oct. 31 where the women finished 4 of 12 teams and the men finished 8 of 12.

Ozia Trujillo led the FGCU women winning ASUN Championship 5k race with a championship record-breaking time of 16:20. Trujillo was named ASUN Runner of the Year. Alise Petrova finished 24 of 100 runners with a time of 17:34 for the Eagles and Tess Shultz finished 25th with a time of 17:35.

Siyabonga Mokgothu led the FGCU men finishing 28 of 117 runners in the ASUN Championship 8k race with a time of 24:22. Innocent Ntwali finished 45th with a time of 25:05 and Hector Toro finished 50th with a time of 25:16.
